MSVCR71.dll error

I am running Live Messenger 8.1 on vista and am reciving the following error
message.."This application failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found"

I have tried to reapair the program, and also uninstalled and reinstalled
with a fresh download from the net, but still the same error appears.

visit http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dl....shtml?msvcr71 to download
the OS file and and put it in
C:\windows\system32..

I am having EXACTLY the same problem! I am trying Bob's solution now. A fix
maybe microsoft??

Hey, can u be more specific as in where to put the file to, cause i dno
which folder to put it in. im not that good with computers so i cud use some
help. i got this problem wit windows live messenger.are you spose to be able
to open the dll file?
