MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update (KB927978) on XP 64bits

Wndows auto update seem to have sucessfully installed the update, but it
continually reinstall it, as if it didn t saw it as successfull. The same
problem occur with Security update 925672. This is a exemple of the install
log. Any idea why ?

First, uninstall MSXML 4.0 SP2 from Add/Remove Programs in the Control
Panel if it is listed.
Then uninstall KB925672.
Restart the system.
Download the update that supercedes KB925762 from here -

KB927978
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...B-6F18FE6921D4

Save it, do NOT run it, and then close the browser.
Now install it.
If it fails again open the msxml4-KB927978.log . Since I've never been
clear on where the log will be you may have to do a Search of the system
to locate it.
Post back with that log if the installation fails again.
