MSXML update KB927978

Windows tells me update is ready to install. It says install is completed,
however, a minute later the same alert appears. I can do this over and over,
but the install never actually takes place. The yellow shield alert just
keeps reappearing.

Hi, I am also being told that i have the same update to continually install,
starting to get a tad annoying now!, seems very similar to KB923723 was there
ever a fix found to that and would that work for this??

Suggest you manually download the update from the link on the above page
and first give MVP Torgeir Bakken's method a shot.
If no joy, go through all the steps for removing BOTH updates for MSXML
4.0 SP2.

Had the same issue with one of our client machines. Went to download site
for microsoft and downloaded KB927978 update to the local machine. Ran the
repair option from the installation. This resolved the problem.

Sorry for the confusion. It appears that someone has already claimed the
name "datageek". With that, I have chosen "devprog"
