Hello everybody. I find such situation. If you reinstall/update/repair Win XP
and install MU and windows installer you will get the list of available
updates but if you hide all of this updates MU find another(older) 8 updates.
If you hide this updates again MU find another 2 updates and so long. More
than that If you install first updates all other (older) updates will be
unavailable. So how many updates users must install 42 or more than
60(including older updates).I think this is the bug.
P.S. Sorry for my English. I am from Russia.

I think this is what is happening:

Some updates supersede older updates: e.g. update B supersedes older update
A.

If you "hide" update B, then update A will be offered, and so on.

If you reinstall/repair Win XP, then the first thing to do is install XP
Service Pack 2 - don't bother with any other update offered at first. Once
you have installed Service Pack 2, then run Windows Update or Microsoft
Update and install every Crtiical Update offered.
