How much does ReadBoot really help?

I was thinking about buying a SanDisk 4GB readyboots USB drive to use on
my computer. I already have 4GB of Ram installed on my pc and was
wondering if it would make any signifigant difference if I added this
drive. I am posting a link to the USB drive.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated, thanks in advance.

Since you already have 4Gb's installed Readyboost probably won't give
you a any gains, Congrats. Readyboost is a nice feature, but only shows
noticeable gains on systems with 1GB or less of RAM.

Its not really going to make a difference on your system.
On mine Outlook opened maybe a half second faster and boot up time was only
a little better.
It was really not enough to make a difference you would really notice.

Reports I have read indicate the closer you get to 2 GB RAM, the less
ReadyBoost will be noticed.

As others have said, with that much memory you aren't going to see any
improvement with ReadyBoost. ReadyBoost basically gives you a pagefile
that is cached to flash memory rather than HD. Unless benchmarks or
other measurements indicate you are using the pagefile frequently, then
ReadyBoost isn't going to help performance.

Got anything besides anecdotal evidence based on your hatred of MS & Vista?
Well...?

It will almost certainly make no discernable difference. I tried
Readyboost here with 2GB, and saw no performance improvement.

My experience with ReadyBoost(TM) to-date has been that
1) It slows start-ups
2) It slows shut-downs.

I've turned all such caching off.
