Multiple email addresses - One Live profile

There is something that has plagued me for some time. With Outlook, there is
the ability for people to see directly in the message if I am online or not.
But this is based purely off the email address of the email message.
Therefore, I need to have a a messenger account that is linked with my
business email.

Then, since I also write personal email, I also need to have a messenger
account linked with my personal email address.

What I would really like is to have a single Live account. I would then be
able to 'link' my personal email address, my business email address, and any
other addresses that I feel like to this single Live account. I would then
be able to leverage the benefits of Live completely with a single instance
of Favorites, a single Space, and everything else.

Currently, I run multiple instances of Messenger so that each email address
can appear online.

Does anyone know if Live can support what I am trying to accomplish? Or is
there some other method of setting up all of this to give me the
functionality of what I am looking for?

Greetings Richard,

Been suggested for ages, and the only workaround is what you're doing I'm afraid.

It is possible with Windows Live Mail Desktop. It's a program.
But it's still in the beta and you need to be invited.
If you want an invitation mail me.

It isn't? I just tried the download link at the web site that I linked; the
download started, and asked me where I wanted to save the file.

That isn't what you said earlier:

"But Live Mail Desktop isn't at ideas any longer..."

As for receiving email, I do it just fine with WLMD. But I don't have a mail
account in the "@live.com" domain. I use WLMD with a mail account in the
"@hotmail.com" domain, the "@fastmail.jp" domain, and the "@aosake.net"
domain.

If you meant that WLMD won't work with an "@live.com" mail account, just say
so. Saying that WLMD won't receive email is plain wrong because it does for
three of my accounts.

Well @live.com E-Mail Adresses aren't available at this moment.
I used my @msn.com fine without invitation.
But @koopaware.com (My WindowsLive Custom Domain) needs invitations.
I haven't tried it with a @hotmail account so I don't know...

I don't have a Windows Live Custom Domain, or an "@live.com" email account.
I use an "@hotmail.com" account (default), and "@fastmail.jp" account
(IMAP), and an "@aosake.net" account (IMAP). That last is my hobby domain,
but it is registered through GoDaddy.

I imagine that your "@koopaware.com" account requires invitation because it
is *your* domain, and *you* have to approve others to use it. But anybody
who either already has a mail account, or who can sign up for one with any
free service on the Internet which offers SMTP, POP3, IMAP, or HTTPMail, in
some combination, will not need an invitation to set up WLMD.

As an aside, I use the free service with Fastmail, so I have to bring my own
SMTP server to the game. I read my email with an IMAP reader, but I
configure it to send through my Yahoo! Japan acccount. WLMD handles that
just fine, and I didn't need an invitation to download, or install it.
