Hi

I have got a computer with Windows XP home edition pre installed -- That
would make it an OEM installation. I have a previous computer with an Windows
ME (OEM) installed and I want to install XP on this computer as well.

My question is: can I use the same installation disk as to my new computer
or do I have to by a new one? Can I upgrade my XP licens so that I can use it
to both my computers?

Best regards
Marika

OEM versions of Windows XP cannot be installed on
a different computer. In order to upgrade your Windows ME
computer, you'll need to purchase a "Retail Upgrade Version"
of Windows XP.

Besides that OEM's can't be moved from one computer to another per the
license agreement, "EULA", it has always been one computer one copy of
XP so you'll need to get another copy of XP, either a retail XP upgrade
or an OEM version. The OEM version is less expensive but it will not do
an upgrade, only a clean install.
