In some folders at random, Vista will not allow me to make more than one
file selection at the same time. If for example, I select a file, press and
hold the CTRL key down and select the other file, it won't work. Also, it
does not allow me to drag a selection rectangle to select more than one
file. What's the deal with this? Thanks.

In addition, if I go to select all, it's greyed out and won't let me do it.

I tried copying the problem folder to the desktop. It allows me to select
more than one file on the copy on the desktop, but it won't on the original
folder. It's really annoying.

You use the Shift key not the CTRL key and you can select a section. What
are you doing that you cannot do it?

You use the Shift key to select multiple adjacent files.

You use the CTRL key to select multiple NON-adjacent files.

I already know this. It works on all folders but the one I mentioned.
Did you look at that screenshot showing that folder with the 'select all'
option greyed out? There are a good eight or nine files in there, so why is
select all greyed out? It also won't let me do CTRL to select multiple
random files or SHIFT to do adjacent files. Also, like I already said, it
will not let me draw the selection rectangle to select multiple items
either.
Also, I tried enabling the select files by checkmarks. As soon as I
check a file and go to check another file, the first file I checked becomes
unchecked. It's doing all this behavior within that one folder. Like I
said, the rest of the folders appear to work, but I've run into this problem
before two or three times.

Perhaps my machine is possessed.

Sorry, my reply was for Ian's comment on using the Shift key and not the CTRL
key to select multiple files.

I have seen your problem posted before, but unfortunately I do not remember the
resolution.

Travis, are each of these files attached to separate Photoshop projects? If
yes, that might be the issue.

Ian, one uses the Control key to make a random selection of a number of
files; always has been that way!
