Firstly you do not Have to keep your files on a separate partition in
vista but If you do it has advantages. The ideal sytem from a security
standpoint is to store your files on a separate physical drive because
if anything should happen to your VISTA drive then your data is safe.
The main advantage of having your data on a separate partition is that
if you ever need to re-install Vista your files are unaffected by the
re-install.

you can set up the partitions either before, during or after your vista
install. have a look 'Here '
tutorials showing options within vista

have a look 'Here ' (http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1)It relates to
freeware app BCDedit which is used to set up Dual boot with vista - I'v
found that the tutorials and such here are very good and explain th
process and options much better than I can :

That's different. If you want to multiboot different operating
systems, then you're going to want to put them on different
partitions.
