I have Vista Home Premium. It was installed clean when first released in May
2007. The computer has been in constant use since that date and all updates
(including SP1) installed. Full virus and firewall protection has always
been in place and no serious threats have ever been detected.
The position now is that the computer is stable and works well in all
respects except for the following two, relatively trivial, faults:
1. Windows MediaPlayer will play streamed Internet radio when the stream URL
is pasted into WMP 'File/Open URL', but it will not play automatically by
clicking the 'Play' button on the radio station web page, instead Windows
Network Diagnostics then reports 'Windows received an HTTP error message 403
(forbidden)'.
2. Windows MovieMaker will not import TV video (dvr-ms files) recorded by
Windows MediaCenter. It generates an error message 'File could not be
imported. Unspecified error'.
I wonder if these two problems are related and whether any MVPs (or other
clever people) out there can suggest the remedy(s)?
