My Bluetooth Headset or Vista??

I have a bluetooth headset (Jabra BT8010) that routinely fails to connect
the stereo feature.

Here's what I do:

1. I turn on the power of headset.

2. From the system task icons bar in Vista (HomePrem), I open the
Bluetooth-->Show Bluetooth Devices to get that dialog box.

3. The Devices tab shows the headset and that it is "Connected".

4. In the Audio tab, I have "Bluetooth Hands-Free Audio" and "Bluetooth
Stereo Audio" for the device. Both are always "disconnected" and must be
forcefully connected. I can select the "hands-free audio" feature and
after a few seconds, always get connected. But selecting the "stereo
audio"---the feature I really want---it always quickly returns as
disconnected.

5. In order to connect the stereo audio feature, I usually have to click
the feature, select "Remove", return to Devices to check the "Audio Sink"
feature that has been unchecked by the action of the remove command, see
the "Bluetooth AV is installed" indicator, and return to Audio tab to
forcefully connect Stereo Audio, which it does. Sometimes I have to re-
start Vista altogether to make things work.

Jabra told me this is a Vista problem.

Can anyone explain, or even beg to differ?

Note that the device does not have pairing problems...it has long since
been paired and never needs it.

You're getting farther than me. I recently purchased a Lenovo deskto
with Windows Vista Home Premium, to replace a dead XP computer. In th
old computer, I had a Belkin BT dongle (B8T013) that worked just fin
with my Jabra BT8010 with the A2DP stereo

During the course of setting up the new computer, I plugged the dongl
into a USB port, and Vista supposedly found drivers for it. I tried t
connect the BT8010, and while it did connect, I couldn't get th
computer to recognize the stereo profile--just the mono handsfre
profile

I downloaded and installed updated Vista drivers for the dongle fro
Belkin, but now I can't pair the device at all. Windows sees the devic
in the Add New Device window, and I've tried every possible passcod
setting, but it won't pair at all. I did get the message once that i
was paired successfully, but Windows would not allow me to select an
services for the device, and the headset seems oblivious to the fac
that it is supposed to be paired. (The display does show a "paired
symbol once it is paired correctly, but that symbol never appeared.

Suggested on how to solve the problem are more than welcome. Th
headset works fine with my LG CU515 (which does support A2DP), and i
worked with the Belkin dongle on my old XP machine, so I'm pretty sur
it's a Vista thing.

I do have a copy of Vista Ultimate that I could install (legally
even!) on this computer, but I'm hesitating unless I know that it wil
fix more problems than it will cause
