I would like to know why and how I can fix this
My c:\ drive where windows is installed appears as the D:\ drive in do
and in windows setup and repair... even though its already installed o
the c:\ when i do a chkdsk or anything on the drive I have to d
d:\chkdsk /r to be able to run a check disk on my C:\....... sooo
wtf... is my drive installed wrong? or is there a way to fix this?
suspect it is my problem with an error 8007000B when installing an
updates... Messanger live wont install either, At all. Oh and neithe
will adobe acrobat...I just get a *Error 1935*
Microsoft.VC80.ATL.type="win32".*version*="8050727 .

the solution to all these problems posted on forums is to run
fsutil resource setautoreset true c:\. BUUUTT it wont work still.. I
even done a clean install

Drive letters are assigned to partitions during the boot process and it is
quite possible for Windows to see a particular partition as drive D: whereas
another OS will see the same partition as drive C. Generally, though,
Windows 98 and DOS should assign the same drive letter to each partitions.
There's no reason that Windows should not be installed on a drive other than
C.

Use FDISK /Status to see how drive letters are assigned to partitions. Run
it from a DOS boot, and then from a DOS prompt within Windows. Then describe
for us exactly what the difference is between the two, in terms such as
primary partition, first extended partition, etc.

See here for some information about the problem installing Acrobat reader.
You may wish to install an earlier version or an alternative product.

The command for fsutil that is associated with the 8007000B error is for
Vista and will not work with W98.

'FDISK' is not a recgnized as an internal or external command, operable

when updateing or anything I fixxed it by installing on my main drive
that was C:\ in dos it just.... works now... so thats that windows vista
sucks since NOTHING would work at all if I installed on the D:\ drive
even though its my new hard drive I guess it will just be storage now.

Comments re W98 are not relevant and should be ignored. Sorry for the
confusion.
