my computer keeps cutting off stating dump physical memory

im looking for assistance in my computer.it keeps cutting off,stating,begin
dump of physical memory data im using window 2000

I was in the same boat. I suspect the KB885250 security patch was the
culprit, as it replaced system level driver files. I was unable to restart in
any of the safe modes or using the last known good configuration boot option.
I had to wipe my admin workstation out and reinstall everything from scratch.

Needless to say I ghosted my hard drive today after getting everything back
together again. Hopefully you can hit 'f8' right before Windows starts trying
to load choose another boot option to at least get your system to a usable
point. I sure wasn't able to :-(

My computer has also shown the same screen several times, so i wiped my hard
drive clean reinstalled windows, got all the updates, put up a virus scanner,
etc. just this past thursday, all in order to avoid seeing this problem
again...nevertheless, yesterday night and then again this morning i saw the
infamous blue screen with the phrase "beginning dump of physical memory"...i
dont know whats wrong...can anyone give me any suggestions?

So the same blue screen has hit me several times, so finally this past
thursday i wiped my hard drive clean, reinstalled windows, got all the
updates, replaced all my files, taking me only 12 hours of my day, just to
avoid seeing that infamous blue screen...nevertheless, yesterday night and
again this morning the same screen popped up with the message "beginning dump
of physical memory"...does anyone have any suggestions???

From what I gather (and guess) the KB885250 update could have some system
driver level incompatibilities with other hardware on your system. Wiping
things out and starting clean was a good first step, but I wouldn't apply the
KB885250 patch. If you are behind a firewall of some type just block the
various Microsoft networking ports (UDP and TCP 137, 138, 139, 445, etc.) and
you should be okay.
