Is it my computer?

I used to be able to chat to anyone without a problem, but now, i send
messages that dont get through to my friends, they send messages that dont
get through to me.. but they can talk to others fine. its just with me that
there is a problem.

is this common? i just had windows live and now have 8.5beta, what can i do
to correct it?

When they don't get through are you getting the "your message was not delivered" error?

Also, what kind of network environment are you in -- home, work, routers, firewalls, etc.?

Hi Jonathan

Thanks for replying. No.. i dont get any message, which makes it even more
frustrating, because you dont know if the other person got the message. It
says the other person is typing, then it stops, but the message never comes
through from them. and the same with messages im writing - they can see that
im writing, but when i click send, they dont get it.

Im at home, on a laptop, windows XP, using 8.5beta, i use avg firewall.
