Ive recently brought a new PC with Vista home basic on.

When i click on a download button on any website, instead of getting a box
that says "Run" "Save" or "Open" like i used to on XP, i just get a box with
2 options which are "Open with" with a browse button next to it and "Save to
disc".

Can someone tell me why this is happening please?

I assume you're using IE7. Use Save to Disc and then choose where you
want to save the download.

You might want to consider using Firefox which gives you more options.
Download (heh) it at http://www.mozilla.com/firefox

In Firefox, go to Tools/Options/Main and you will see the download options.

If you're running Vista, no, just leave it alone.

IE7 cannot be uninstalled. It is part of the OS. In Vista with UAC enabled
it is also more secure than Firefox because it runs in protected mode.
