my default font has been scrambled after the recent update

I recently just did the update and it installed everything alright, but once
i restarted my computer, the font has changed. my label icons and such have
changed into a type of symbol font. I can only see a regular fonts on certain
websites, that has already been pretyped. but if i search something it will
still write in the symbol font. please help me out.
