My documents synch issue

I have 1 user out of 10 that appears to have lost the ability to synch the my
documents directory. I have checked the target location and its pointing to
the local copy and not the server (I'm unable to change the location directly
by typing). He does however get promted to sych and it would appear that
their are some documents under his server directory - however it looks as if
its synching the offline files directory, no file within the local my
documents directory is showing the synch icon altho make available offline is
checked under the tools option.

I have re-run the my documents redirection option, I have check the GPO and
all is as it should be. I have check all permisions at share, root and local
pc level - again all are as they should be.

If anyone can shed some light on the issue I'd very much appreciate it!

Thanks.

Hi Ronnie,

Thanks for posting here.

From your post, my understanding on this issue is: you have the folder
redirection synch issue. If I am off base, please feel free to let me know.

Based on my research, this behavior may occur because you made changes to a
file or files in the redirected folder while offline and those changes have
not been synchronized with the network version.

If the original network version of the redirected folder is not available
to synchronize the changes, the folder is unable to be redirected to a new
network location.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this behavior, you must make the previous network location of
the redirected folder available and enable the offline files to be
synchronized.

When the offline files are synchronized, the folder can be redirected to a
new location.

If the original network location of the redirected files cannot be returned
online, reset the offline files cache or database on each client that is
affected by performing the steps below.

(1) In Folder Options, on the Offline Files tab, click Delete Files.

On the "Confirm File Delete" windows, please select "Delete both the
temporary offline versions and the versions that always available offline."

(2) Click Close and then click OK to confirm the delete.
