My favorites defaulted back to set up after my updates last night

Last night my updates ran (set for auto update during the night). I checked
and got KB905866, KB941651, KB939653, KB941202, KB933729. Yesterday I was
on line and all of my many Favorites were there. This a.m. I was set back to
the Favorites I had in mid May when I purchased my laptop. Something
happened during the updates! I have searched to see if they were renamed
and put some where else. I could not find I even searched for one or 2
individual bookmarks and they are not found. When I look in the Favorites
folder it matches the links I have on the Favorites dropdown-the mmid may
list. Any gentle and basic guidance will be appreciated. Am I missing a
step somewhere to finding and getting my real Favorites back?
