Where is my Hide Menu Bar icon? It's gone!

Hi all,

Something wierd happens to my Live Messenger, the Hide Menu Bar icon is
missing from the top right hand corner. Any idea how to get it back?

I'm having the same problem, its been like this on my version since 8.0.812
and all the way through the 8.1 Beta's.

I wanna get this button back as i like the clean look without the menu
bar,but cannot get it!. I have logged a bug to Microsoft about it.

Yeah, I've seen a few post on other forums, but there is no solution for it.
Uninstall/Reinstall doesn't work. C'mmon, what is the magic registry key to
get it back? Anyone?

I've got the Live Messenger 8.1 beta (Build 8.1.0106.00_ClientV8.1)
installed on 3 machines - 2 work perfectly and the Hide Menu bar button is
present and works beautifully, and the third has the problem of the menus
always visible and no Hide Menu bar button. All pcs are windows xp pro sp2,
and all are different hardware - one is a dell laptop, one an acer laptop and
the one that doesn't work is an asus pundit pc.

I've had a bit of a dig through the registry but so far I've not spotted any
obvious differences.
