when I turn off my laptop (asus w3j) after I turn it off more than 3 hours,
then the fan will not working until I restart it. I used NHC software and it
shows that the temp can get 95'c than hang.
I've already sent it to asus service center, but they said there is no
problem with the laptop.
can I fix it or is there hotfix for this problem?? I used windows vista
thx

You are saying that when you turn off your laptop, the fan inside
turns off too... right? THAT'S NORMAL.

I'm not surprised.

How can Windows have any control over your computer when it's not even
running (remember: it's turned OFF)??

What do you mean when you say restart?

Are you saying the after you turn the machine off for 3 hours, turn it back
on that the fan doesn't work, the fan only works after the machine has been
on and you do a system restart?

Yes if the computer is overheating then something not good is going to
happen.

You need to send it back again to them, because it is an equipment issue you
have with something being defective equipment wise. Maybe, you should to
talk to someone higher up on the chain of command to get satisfaction.

What you don't want is that the computer continues to run hot and something
else goes defective, because of the heat.

You should send the computer back, and if need be, chew someone's rear-end
about your situation with the previous attempt the get the problem solved.

If nothing else, force them to change the fan and things associated with the
fan even if they can't find anything.
