My Media player's music will not play

To play my music, I have to have the CD in my computer. if I click the song
that I want to play, a red x pops up next to that and the next three songs.
could someone tell me how to fix this?

What are the tracks in question? That sounds like you're playing CDA files,
which aren't real files but instead only references to locations upon the
CD. If you rip them to WMA or MP3 and then play them, they should work that
way.
