My Monitor is unable to receive 256 colors.

All I amable to get when I got to Display in Control Panel is (16) colors.
When I arrow down all I see is either (2) colors or another box that says
(16) colors. I am trying to achieve High Color or (256). Do I need to
download another Driver for this a different monitor I am using that didnot
come with a Disk?? If so -- please tell me exactly how I go about doing
this..

Grab drivers for your video card and your monitor. www.driverguide.com will
likely have what you're looking for.
