Like I have been doing in the past, I was asked today if I want to download
12 Microsoft updates for my home-edition XP platform during the shutdown, I
went ahead to install them, and PC pwoered off after it. Later when I
attempted to pwoer on, the OS was crashed and couldn't even get to the
desktop. Can't run the safe mode either. I can not believe what happen to my
PC today just install 12 Microsoft updates like I always do before. What
kind of Microsoft updates that are available today????? HELP!!!!

See the "How to obtain help" section of
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977165

For home users, no-charge support is available by calling 1-866-PCSAFETY
(and/or 1-866-234-6020 and/or 1-800-936-5700) in the United States and in
Canada or by contacting your local Microsoft subsidiary. There is no-charge
for support calls that are associated with security updates. When you call,
clearly state that your problem is related to a Security Update and cite the
update's KB number (e.g., KB977165).

Or you can...

Start a free Windows Update support incident request:
https://support.microsoft.com/oas/de...spx?gprid=6527

The Consumer Security Support home page & Microsoft Update Solution Center
also offer support options
https://consumersecuritysupport.microsoft.com/
http://support.microsoft.com/ph/6527#tab3

For more information about how to contact your local Microsoft subsidiary
for security update support issues, visit the International Support Web
site: http://support.microsoft.com/common/international.aspx

For enterprise customers, support for security updates is available through
your usual support contacts.

I am on hold now with MS, has anyone been able to get the effected computer
to reboot?
My wife just got to work and all of their computers have the same issue.

It seems that a security program with the name of SecureIT is causing the
problem, they used to run Symantec Corporate for the AV in the program, don't
know if they still are or if that portion of it is what is causing the
problem. Every call I have had so far has had SecureIT iinstalled.

I have been working with MS on the phone for the past 3.5 hours and they
still do not have a solution for me.
Has anyone been able to cure it yet?

This is ridiculous.. I've tried everything and it seems the only solution is
to format. My entire business is on that machine I can't afford to lose the
files.. If I figure something out I'll let you know. In the mean time try
replacing your video card to a different one if you have one lying around
that might be the problem.
