I've had similar problems like this. One of the things that always crops up
is that with these types of disc they get coded to the machine that did the
burn and won't play on any other device except exact make model and firmware
of the one that wrote to the disc. Most burning software will "finalise" the
disc at the end of the process however some don't, including my Panasonic DVD
recorder. Finalising changes the machine coded data to a universal one, I
think it's UDF. This then allows replay on any device. Look for info on
finalising a disc in your software help or keep an eye out for this option.
You will need to carry out this process on the disc or discs you've already
done and I hope your troubles will be over.
