my pc stops responding during installation of sp2

Can anybody tell me how long it takes to download sp2? I've tried twice and
both times I get to the same spot on the windows sp download "Overall
progess" window..For some reason it just gets stuck in the same spot about
half way.. So my question is, how long should i wait for this download?...I'm
using a fairly new pc, it's a HP a350n- 2.7 mhz- 512 and 160hd...Please

SP2 can be anywhere from about 70 MB to over 200 MB in size. Your internet
connection and the size of the update for your system will determine the
length of time it takes to download SP2. If you have a dialup connection
you are in for an all day session. For comparison, my DSL connection is
256k. I can download a 1.0 MB file in about 40 seconds, on average. It
would take me about 67 minutes to download a 100 MB file.
