Where are my programs

I have Vista Home Premium. Why aren't half the programs I have on my PC on
the Programs list? I shouldn't have to have shortcuts all over my desktop
for these programs. Dragging and dropping the shortcuts on the
Start/Programs menu doesn't work. How do I get them there? TIA.

The new location in Vista for the all users start menu is:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu.

You can click Start and then right-click All Programs and select Explore All
Users and get to the same location.

The user specific start menu folder is in:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Window s\Start Menu.

Then you can arrange things as you like.

Hi, I just asked this question again above since I was unable to find this
thread earlier. How do I move programs I downloaded and installed to the
Start/Program's Menu so I don't have to have shortcuts to these programs all
over the desktop? Not all I've installed show up on the menu. I had to
create shortcuts and put them on the desktop. Thanks.
