I am using HP m8090d. I am using Windows Vista Home Premium. Anyone has a
fix? The infrared receiver is not recognized by Windows after installing SP1
RC1. After uninstalling SP1 RC1, the problem was gone.

I had this problem as well after an update for the eHome driver. I had to
change the broadcast channel that the MCE remote control was using. It
might work for you too.

Please note that Vista SP1 (RC1) is still in beta and this issue might be
resolved by the RTM release expected in the first quarter of this year.

Hi Super Sonic,

This problem may well have been fixed by the time SP1 is officially
released. If not, then you will have to chase up the manufacturers of your
system, in your case HP, to see if they have an updated driver available. A
similar thing happened a few years ago when SP2 for Windows XP was released.
Some games ceased to work and needed a patch downloading from the maker's
website in order for them to work again. I enclose links to the Vista
download pages for your machine. Please note that these pages will change if
and when drivers are amended.
