After reading all the "helpful messages" and opening ports, adding microsoft
to trusted sites in firewall, etc, I went to
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads and searched for the update code. Then I
downloaded the file that pertained to my system, and installed it manually.
I know, someone else mentioned a manual install, but it was not explained
what that meant... so I am doing that here.
Good luck to you all - none of the suggestions aside from manual download
(which does not require repeat internet access during installation!) worked
for me...
