Seems a little too simple, but............
I turned OFF auto updates completely and Bob's your uncle, it works.
Before, I kept getting the "error and cannot display the requested
page..blah, blah." The only thing is, I installed SP2 from a download and
not the update site. Windows Update history still doesn't show that I have
SP2. Should it? Or does it only show those updates tyhat were done through
WU?

Since windows Update did not install SP-2 the history will not show
it.

Hi,

Go to a command prompt and type: winver If you on Windows SP2 it will
display the current SP version.
What is the URL that your entering when you receive this error? What is the
Windows update site error you receive.
