My status is always offline when I run WLM 8.5

Getting a bit annoyed with this... whenever I run WLM 8.5, it shows my
status as "offline". I am much too absent minded to keep turning it back to
"online" each time. How can I fix this?

Also a feature suggestion: Make it an option to set how you want to appear
each time you run Messenger without going through the rigmarole of changing
it from the default each time.

there is a way... but MS blundered in designing it because its not very
apparent.

sign off, then double click the messenger icon on the tray again... and
select the mode you want to use..

and sign in... from that point on it will remember that setting

Didn't work... when I sign out, right click the system tray icon, I find
that option grayed out.

Where did I say to right click on the icon? I will repeat what I said once
again:

sign off, then double click the messenger icon on the tray again... and
select the mode you want to use..

and sign in... from that point on it will remember that setting

I did EXACTLY what you told me to do. No change.
