Hi
In the security bulletin for the update, it is documented what to
look for to see if the update installed successfully.
See the "Verifying Update Installation" section under
"General Information" \ "Security Update Information" \
"Internet Explorer 6 for Windows XP Service Pack 2" at
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../ms04-038.mspx
There you will also see that Microsoft recommends using "Microsoft
Baseline Security Analyzer" (MBSA) to see if updates are installed
or not.
