My usb mouse stopped working after security updates. I went into safe mode
and deleted the usb devices so that it would reload the drivers but it still
does not work. My usb keyboard does work and both still work with other
machines (I have a kvm switch). What could have happened?

I have had mouse problems also since the security updates. I also have a KVM
switch, the mouse is a PS/2 mouse. Swapping the hard drive back to an XP disc
the mouse works fine. Removing the KVM and directly connecting the mouse to
the PS/2 socket on the motherboard also works.

I know this is not a fix but atleast someone else has the same problem.

I am having a similar problem when using my IOGEAR KVM switch with Vista. The
mouse works fine on PC A through the KVM, or when plugged directly into PCB,
but not on PC B through the KVM. I haven't been able to find any driver
updates through Microsoft of IOGEAR. I'm ready to return this PC and give up
on Vista for a few years!

FYI. I solved this issue by returning the Acer PC with Vista to Circuit City
and purchasing a Dell PC with Vista. The Dell PC has not had ANY of the
issues that the Acer PC suffered with. Vista is still not all it's cracked up
to be, but Dell certainly has done a better job with it.
