My user account asks permission but I'm already an administer. Help

A slip of a finger and my complete DOCUMENTS file is in the garbage. I
try to restore, it tells me "you need permission to perform this
action."
The computer tells me I have administrative power, but I can't use it,
it seems.

Vista home premium.
I'll be checking the mail regularly this aft, & I think an email would
be quickest, but I'll check here too.
