Ok I upgraded to Vista the other day and now my wallpaper is gone and I can
not change it to a picture I can change it to diffrent colors. I have tried
everything I could think of and I have tried the suggestions on this page but
they are not working for me. I don't know if they were meant for Windows XP
or what the deal is. If anyone knows what I can do to fix this please let me
know. I have run a virus scan and an adware scan and there is nothing
infecting my computer.

Try this. Go to Control Panel > Ease of Access Center and click on "Make
the computer easier to see". Make sure "Remove background images" does not
have a checkmark.

Try this. Go to C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper, right-click on a picture and
choose Set as Desktop Background. Does that work, or does your Desktop
still show no wallpaper?

Run a spyware scan, a virus scan, and download hijack this and run that too.
It sounds like you carelessly clicked on something and got yourself some
malware. My inlaws had the exact same problem and that's what it was. If you
boot up into Safe Mode and try there I bet your wallpaper will work, that is
if you do have the same prob as my inlaws.

I'm having the same problem. Have you fixed it yet? My husband was on the
computer, and after he was done our wallpaper was not working. I can change
solid colors, but that's it. If you resolved your problem will you send me
the solution. Thankyou
