I bought an HP Pavilion a1737c. Now today, my memory kept running out so my
computer kept turning off. Now I'm trying to log back in and it tells me my
Windows Vista isn't genuine. I have reformatted once with the HP Recovery
discs I was sent. They do not have a serial number. What am I supposed to do?

Tired of having your computer controlled by Redmond? Check out Ubuntu at
http://www.ubuntu.com/ It's free, needs no anti virus or anti malware
programs, updates *everything* on your computer so you don't have to be
going round getting a Java update here and a Flash update there. No
activating. No getting "genuine" and, best of all, it's FREE!

Make sure your installed version of Windows Vista is activated.
Follow this procedure:

You can get started with phone activation by typing "slui.exe 4"
(w/o the quotes) in the Start Search box in the Start Menu and pressing Enter.
The phone activation process takes about 6 minutes.

Note: The "Start Search" box is located right above the Vista blue start button
when you click on it.

I've found Ubuntu to be **** tbh. And yes, I am quite clever enough to run a
linux distro. Give me Vista, even with it's teething problems, over Ubuntu
any day.

Alias is the Ubuntu Marketing Department and will stop at nothing to spew
his garbage and try to get people converted over to the TOY operating
system. Now call HP and try and get them to send you the media you require.
In the mean time, call Microsoft and they will activate your Vista. Only
takes a few minutes.

Use the phone activation and follow Carey's excellent advice. Takes a couple of minutes and you are on your way after.

Another lie and an insult.

He's having a problem with WGA, not WPA. There are more MS hoops to jump
through for that than there are for WPA.

So, not only do you lie and insult me, you give the OP bad advice. How
useless can you get?
