Hi Guys

how about this query?

On my computers running XP, i can access the log-in page of my My3
account, and sign in,
but on my laptop which runs Vista Home Basic, neither Firefox3 nor IE6
will allow me to access my 3 mobile/internet account:
'3 - Home' (http://www.three.co.uk/Home) = no problem
click the Log in to My3 icon
https://my3.three.co.uk/mylogin//log...unt%2Findex.do
and i get:

SECURE CONNECTION FAILED
[/B]
AN ERROR OCCURRED DURING A CONNECTION TO MY3.THREE.CO.UK.

CAN'T CONNECT SECURELY BECAUSE THE SITE USES AN OLDER, INSECURE VERSION
OF THE SSL PROTOCOL.

(ERROR CODE: SSL_ERROR_SSL2_DISABLED)
THE PAGE YOU ARE TRYING TO VIEW CAN NOT BE SHOWN BECAUSE THE
AUTHENTICITY OF THE RECEIVED DATA COULD NOT BE VERIFIED.

* PLEASE CONTACT THE WEB SITE OWNERS TO INFORM THEM OF THIS
PROBLEM.

WHEN I TRY USING IE
I GET IN TO MY LOG-IN SCREEN,
BUT WHEN I TRY LOGGING IN
IT TELLS ME:

[image: HTTP://WWW.VISTAX64.COM/INFO_48.PNG] *INTERNET EXPLORER
CANNOT DISPLAY THE WEBPAGE
[B]MOST LIKELY CAUSES:*

- You are not connected to the Internet.
- The website is encountering problems.
- There might be a typing error in the address.

*WHAT YOU CAN TRY:*

* [image: http://www.vistax64.com/bullet.png] 'Diagnose
Connection Problems' (http://www.vistax64.com/#) *

When i click the diagnostics it tells me there is no problem with my
internet connection?

Ive gone on Google for the problem "Error code:
ssl_error_ssl2_disabled"
and followed all instructions,
but my laptop says *my SSL2 *is* enabled ?!!!!

*Anybody got any ideas? anybody else come across this?

So Why is this an issue because i can access this information via my
other computers using XP? i hear you ask:

When im mobile i use my wifi 3 dongle with the laptop -
it'd be good to be able to access my 3 account and monitor my internet
usage.....
.....but his problem prevents me.

Cheers guys

D'ohhhh!!!!!

it seems, dig around.....
and eventually you'll come up with the answer.

Dug around on the Firefox forum and a solution was recommended @
https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb...e+SSL+protocol

only their solution was

- In the URL search bar, type *about:config*, and press EnterReturn.

- The about:config -"This might void your warranty!"- warning page
may appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!
, to continue to the about:config page.

- In the *Filter:* box, type *ssl2*.
- Double-click each preference line to set it to true.

With SSL v2 enabled, you should now be able to access the site.

*I found that that particular advice didnt work.....*
but then i remembered something about Vista running in 64, not 32
(whatever that means [me not being a techie])
and there was also in the filter "*security.ssl2.des_64*", so i also
double clicked on that and accepted that as "true" too:

When i tried reconnecting i was warned
*you are requesting access to a low level protocol encryption site -
*-or something or other-
accepting that prompt, i now find that *that is the solution! *

Hope this helps anybody else from having to go hunting round for a
solution.

Regards
not such a newbie

You are earning points for creativity and initiative...Counts for more than
newbiehood.
