Hi all,

I noticed that in my user directory, there are several folders with
names something like this:

{2d4a7764-44a4-4e2a-85d4-356053db96ba}

These folders contain some dll and security catalog files. I was
wondering how did those folders appear on my computer ad if it was
safe to delete them.

Thanks

Hi,

At what level do you see them?

ie:

C:\Users?
C:\Users\<username>?
C:\Users\<username>\appdata?

I was wondering about this myself. On my machine the odd folder is at
the C:\Users\<username> level. OK to delete?

Hi,

I would check properties of the folder to see when they were created and try
to relate that to some installation or program. They aren't normal, and
sound like the remnants of setup folders that were not deleted on completion
of the installation.

OK, good advice. I ran it down to the installation of a USB Smart
Switch Driver that I had added back on 16 October. I subsequently
deleted the device from my system, and the folder must have been a
residual artifact from that process. Thanks, Rick.
