Using Internet Explorer, go here and have the Office Update page scan
the system:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/do...incatalog.aspx
At first it will install an ActiveX component and then check that the
installed Office software is Genuine. Then go back to the page and have
the system scanned.
I was surprised to learn that there was a couple of Service Packs for
the installed Word and Excel Viewers on my system.
You can click the More Details links to see what the updates are about
and even access the MS Download Center page to manually download the
updates via the links under the updates.
