No sure if this can be done, but at the moment I use Media Center through a
XBOX 360 and a DLINK DSM-750 while keeping my computer running.

Is there a way to still use media center with a Network Attached Storage
unit? while the computer is off?

This is the NAS I'm looking at getting

Thanks

not sure what you are really asking here. I know the DSM-750 has a
different D-Link interface and should be able to "play" content
stored on the NAS drive. Depends on what it is connected to..

The Xbox 360 also will let you play content off other devices.

Will you get the Media Center interface? No.
Will you be able to play content stored on the computer that is
turned off? No.

I have copied all my music, pictures and videos to the NAS unit and set up
media center on my computer, but when I goto the TV to configure that side
of it, it says no media found
I have gone into the media library and added the libraries "On this
computer" (includes mapped network drives) and on the TV and selected "On
another computer" selected the NAS drive DNS-323/Volume_1 and still no media
showing up

you probably need to enable the UPnP AV server on the admin side on
the DND-323
