When I first downloaded some of my photos from another computer an
clicked on “Pictures” the navigation pane showed a series of what I a
calling psuedo-folders under the heading “Date Taken”. Under tha
heading were “folders” like “2009”. Clicking on 2009 displayed ALL th
photos in ALL the folders and subfolders under my “Pictures” folder
regardless of which actually folder where they resided. This was grea
because I was able to see all the duplicates my wife had stored. (sh
liked to store the same photo of multiple folders). I proceeded t
download all the photos I have on all the computers I have to get the
all in one place AND to remove all the duplicates. After that wa
accomplished I click on “Pictures” again and *POOF* those psuedo folder
were gone

I did setup to see all folders as large icons and to “unhide” kno
extensions and clicked “Apply to All Folders”. I don’t remember if I wa
or was not looking at a picture folder or not when I did this but tha
is all I recall doing as far as setup goes

So, am I crazy or did I really see these psuedo folders? If I did se
them where’d they go? and can I get them back

PS: this is a brand new laptop and this is my first adventure w.it
Vista. I have to say, so far I kind of like i

At a guess you are talking about 'Photo Gallery' and a further guess is
that the first time you selected 'Pictures' under 'All Pictures and
Video' and later selected 'Pictures' under 'Folders' which would be the
'Pictures' folder in your user folder.
Look again at ALL of the navigation pane.
