Hi again,
I had a program in XP the would automatically make restore points in System Restore if I used it with Scheduled Tasks.
Is the one for Vista?
My system will not make automatic restore points.
See my messages "Please help! No automatic restore points"

Have a good day,
RScotti

remove "nospam" in order to email me.

You have posted 3 seperate threads now... Im sorry I was looking at one but
now have to hunt for your other threads...I aint doing that.

This is not how you post problems...

Instead of me doing your hard work, you do it...

Excuse me but first of all I only had two messages about this, they were related but they have different answers. That's
why I made two threads.
The other one was about pagefile.sys which has nothing to do with SR.

I went to your link and there was nothing there for you to do "hard work" on.
I know how to use SR but I don't know how to edit the registry to fix my problem.

See my response to your other post. You should have a task in Task Scheduler
for System Restore.

Excuse me, have to interject here...

Your answer is in one the links (if you read them), instead of me 'doing the
hard work ' post all the answers then we can help you more

Anything in logs, what is your system restore showing in system properties,
system protection. Task Sceduler, SR.. what settings are here. This is only
3 scenarios to check, advise us that these are all functioning fine (bet one
of them has some reference to your issue)

There is no way in 26 minutes you could have checked just those 3 areas /
reading the links comparing let alone all the 'advice' in the google search.

Finally, yes you are asking another question but human nature will prompt
someone to ask why you want a third partyand ask you questions same in your
other thread and to ask someone to 'hunt' for another thread generally will
not get you any assistance.

Good luck

I went all three places but only saws anything in the Task Schedule. Nothing was in SR System Protection just said that
the drives were checked. Event viewer didn't have anything either as Jill from MSFT Suggested.
Sorry I don't know where else to look if I did I would have done so on my own.
I have only had Vista since this Monday, 5 days.

Okay, feeling a bit guilty for my ' unusual posts' I apologise...

Initially I would ask about Event viewer (system and application logs) if
nothing there, Lets start with Task Scheduler...

Task Scheduler Library
Microsoft
Windows
System Restore..

Maximise the screen..
At the top there should be the task and status should be queued, is this
there? If it is what is the 'Last Run Result' and anything in the 'next run
time' or last run time ?

Middle Screen / section should have a tab.. Triggers

By default it should show Daily and a time and 'At Start Up' are these
entries here ?

I am using the other post for that error NOT finding a program for automatic SR
I already posted the history log in the thread that addressed that problem along with the SR folder results.

Although all the settings and conditions are grayed out.

There are 5 things in Trigger from 4/2 to 4/6 and also in the library don't look important.
