Hi I have dial up that at the best runs 44 Kbps. It also disconnects every 4
hours or so sometimes less. There is no way to download SP3 without corrupted
files. the other packs came on a cd option and that is what I again need. I
dont want to disable sp3 download but I do not want my system to try
downloading it on its own via auto updates, any ideas?
For now I am going to uncheck xp sp3 to download due to my issues.
I would gladly get DSL if it was available to me but they say I am "too far
from the CO line."

XP SP3 is not yet available on a CD from Microsoft; supposedly it will be in
a couple of months.

If you know someone with a high speed connection they can downlaod the ISO
image file and use it to burn you a CD.

The Windows Xp SP3 CDs are currently on back order, but there should be
more available around May 22, 2008.

The SP3 CDs cost $3.99, plus $5.99 shipping.

Telephone MSFT at 1-800-360-7561, and choose the prompt for help/info about
service packs.
