Need Clarification with regard to cluster

Hi

I am having two Hp server ( HP proliant DL 580 G5 ) of same model and type
no. But the configuration differes in Cpu speed and RAM , rest everything is
same. Can i do Microsoft cluster(Failover) with the above mentioned HW.

One server has 2.13Mhz and 16 gb Ram and other server has got 2.3 Mhz and
8gb Ram.

Please let me know that Microsft cluster is possible or not.

Clustering should be possible. Its possible to run into issues if the
architecture of the processor are different, say one is X86 and the other
X64 capable. With Windows 2008 Failover clustering you only need to run a
validation test, which is built into the product to determine
supportability. I would start there.

Thanks for the support,My both the server are of 32 bit architecture, only
cpu speed differs and Ram(Memory speed differs) does the speed of CPU and
Ram Configuration will make difference in Microsoft clustering.

For cluster service in not a prerequisite who both servers (noes) are the
same. Maybe you can have problems with performance when occurs a failover.
In your case both servers are almost the same.
