Need to convert from XP Home (German) to XP Professional English

I am purchasing a new HP Deskpro computer in Switzerland but this comes only
with XP Home in German. I want to change the OS to XP Professional English

I am told that I will lose all my drivers for the hardware installed on the
new system with this upgrade. This will incude the DVD drives and audio system

Does anyone have any advise on this ?

You will need a full install retail XP Pro English. You
cannot convert the OS from German to English, you can either
do a clean install or dual boot. The new install will
install all the correct drivers, however any proprietary HP
drivers and third party software will have to be reinstalled
on the English OS.

Unless you are purchasing am item "off the shelf-from stock"
you should be able to order a computer with the OS of your
choice.

Windows XP is published in specific language versions.
You need to contact HP and order your PC with the
"English Version" of Windows XP Professional preinstalled.
