Does anyone know of a good book on the Windows Vista registry? I'm looking for detailed
and complete coverage. I've found chapters here and there in other books but they
usually only just scratch the surface.

There's a 2005 Microsoft book on the Windows registry - $30 new at Amazon.

I doubt you would find it detailed and complete enough, even for XP.

Your best bet might be to get a drive imaging program, such as Acronis or
BootItNG, and hack away in regedit after creating a restore image or two.
If Microsoft goes with XML configuration files for Windows 7, your effort
would be fairly pointless, but they'll probably keep some registry at least.

Not unless you are a programmer or love to tinker should you really need to
know the inner workings of the Windows Registry.
