I need help with this error message.

I keep getting this error message when I'm using the DVD Maker from Vista:

This problem was caused by Indeo® audio software, which was created by Intel
Corporation.

Intel Corporation has informed Microsoft that this product is no longer
needed and can be disabled or uninstalled.

However, when I go to uninstall this program it is not listed. Any
suggestions?

Indeo Audio Codec, file iac25_32.ax . Unregister it and you should be good.

What third party codec package did you install that registered that on your
system? It is *not* registered on the system by default. =\

How do I unregister this file?

open a cmd.exe prompt as an admin
Easiest way to do that is to type "cmd.exe" into the Start menu's search
bar, then right-click on cmd.exe when it shows up in the list above and
choose Run As Administrator
accept that prompt
type:
regsvr32 /u iac25_32.ax
at that prompt, hit return. That should pop up a dialog and you should be
done.

What codec pack did this? I would really really really really like to stop
them from breaking users. Usually they listen if you ask nicely, and I'm
perfectly willing to ask nicely. =D

Thanks, I really appreciate this. I was able to unregister it. I'm not sure
where it came from--perhaps ROXIO.

Nah, Roxio wouldn't do this - it's an old Intel codec that got sold to
Ligos. Only third party codec packs register this as far as I'm aware. You
*might* find really old software that registers it too, but probably not.
