Need Help : Problem Adding Printer

I just upgrade from xp to Vista Business Editionn ,my problem cannot install
any printer driver . Message shown " "Windows Can't open add Printer,
The Local print spooler service is not running.
Please retasrt the spooler or retart the maching."

Does anybody can solve my problem because i just restarting printer spooler
service at computer management but it didnt works.

Restarting the print spooler didn't fix the issue? Or you were unable to
restart the print spooler?

What do your event logs show?

Did you go to the Printer's manufacturer's website and download a vista
compatible Driver, if they have written one for vista?

Are you trying to install the driver from the original disk that you ran
when you installed the printer on XP? ?It won't work.

If they do not have vista driver for the printer, get a new printer.

I am having the same issue after an upgrade from XP to Vista. I can start
the print spooler but as soon as I try to add a printer, it kills the spooler
and I am stuck. I've seen several links about cleaning the registry and such
but these have not worked for me. There are messages that are written to the
event log as well when this happens.
