Need Help with Security Update

Yesterday my computer downloaded automatic Security Updates from Microsoft.
There were 9 updates downloaded. As my computer was installing the updates,
each one gave a message at the end of its installation. The first 2 said
done. The remaining 7 each said failed. When all were complete, my computer
asked to be rebooted, which I did. I never got a message saying that anything
was wrong, but with new security alerts out there, I want to make sure that
my computer is protected. What do you think? Thanx Steel

If XP SP1 or Win 2k SP4 are the OS, then open Add/Remove Programs in the
Control Panel and MAKE SURE that KB921883 is installed.
This update will mitigate an active exploit for the vulnerability
covered here :
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../MS06-040.mspx
Links to download it are on that page.
To see if the updates installed correctly or not, revisit Microsoft
Update, and click the "Review your update history" link in the left
frame. ( That's the link on Windows Update. MU may differ )
The other updates are Critical or Important, but the only known active
exploit is for the vulnerability discussed here :

Security Advisory 922437

CORRECTION : " If XP SP1, Windows 2000, or Windows 2000 SP1 are the OS ... "
