If you mean you want to remove the icon from the uninstall list without
actually uninstalling the program, the registry key is
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall]

CCleaner can do it easier.

But, if the installation failed and didn't acutally uninstall anythin
or correctly, the icon will remain

Deleteing the Add/Remove Icon will not uninstall the faulting program

Possibly reinstalling the newer version and uninstalling the
installing the older version will fix the issue. Or installing the olde
version over the top (if allowed) will resolve the issue

You can also try Windows Installer CleanUp Utilit
or a program called Revo Uninstaller

Well tried several of these suggestions. Was not able to find the right key?
Probably because I went to the registry before receiving proper
instructions. Anyway going to wipe drive and bring back original image that
I was working on an then proceed cautiously with all advise listed under my
question in this group. I will post back the outcome for others to see.
Thanks to all for inputs!

Was able to use cc cleaner and remove from list by renaming and searching
registry for same name and deleting it. Tried installing program (Logitech
QuickCam 5000 software) and got error 1327 invalid drive/M? This is my
original problem that I didn't mention! I appreciate all help and hope you
will have patience with my communication skills? Tepid has a valid point!
Thanks Tepid and I hope you have more info to help me? Tried re installing
but have know idea where to get the same version update?

Failed Driver Installs always create problems when trying to clean u
and reinstall
They are involved and lengthy and can be difficult to explain how t
trouble shoot over the web. You will need to hunt the registry, devic
manager and probably system files to resolve. For most people it i
easier to just backup and reload the OS

The simplest answer I can give at this time....
Search the drive and registry for anything Logitech (If this is th
only Logitech device you have) and delete the files and entries. Thi
could either resolve the issue, or make things worse. In any case
backup data and prepare to reload the OS

my advice is backup data and reload the OS, if you are unable to get i
installed correctly. Esspecially if the install/uninstall failed an
just will not work now

Thanks for advise! I did just that after several attempts to fix through
registry. It wasn't a total loss though. I learned a lot about registry and
am happy to have people like yourself who have knowledge to share. I will
keep experimenting and learning because this is my safe place ! Thanks to
all you that had input into my challenge. I will keep trying to solve
these types of issues and hope to share the resolution if I figure it out?
