Need help with updates that are installing

I had the automatic update notification in the lower right-hand corner and
downloaded the update and installed it. It shows as installed in the update
history but the yellow update notification icon will not clear! This is what
the update was:
Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 (KB954430)
In trying to clear the update icon, I have the installation in my update
history about 5 times. Please help!
